Hawai’i Public Radio’s new Lanai transmitter is now online, providing improved signal for the station’s West Maui, Lanai and Molokai listeners, the station said Tuesday. KJHF FM 103.1, licensed to Kualapuu, Molokai, went live Monday. Those areas had been shielded by the West Maui Mountains, which blocked the signals from Haleakala. The station broadcasts HPR-1, which offers news, talk, entertainment and a variety of music. In November, HPR announced that it had acquired the Lanai transmitter.
